Psychology

Course Information

Pupils will follow OCR GCSE Psychology J203.

The syllabus consists of two units and covers a wide range of different psychological areas. 

Units 1 and 2

In each of the set units pupils cover three different topics, all of which also contain ideas about the brain and neuropsychology. Within each topic the key concepts are explored along with core theories, at least two core pieces of psychological research as well as how the research can be applied to real life settings.

Ideas about research in psychology are also covered and are examined in both units.

Homework

Homework will be set weekly and will include:

  • Carrying out psychological research
  • Exam questions
  • Revision for end of topic tests.

Equipment

Pupils will be given a textbook that they must bring to every lesson. They must also bring:

Exercise book, pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, calculator.

Visits/Extra-curricular

Additional reading around each topic will be available through SharePoint and there are a number of books in psychology that are available in the library.
