10th March 2023
This week's bulletin is available here:
Dear Parents and Carers
Teachers’ Strike Next Week, Wednesday and Thursday 15 & 16 March.
As you may be aware, members of the National Education Union are planning to go on strike next Wednesday and Thursday. If the strikes go ahead, at Cambourne Village College, this will mean:
Years 7, 8 and 9 – no school on these days.
Year 10 Wednesday: No school.
Year 10 Thursday: All pupils in school for the morning, all leaving at lunchtime from 12.40.
Year 11 Wednesday: All pupils in school on Wednesday. A number of Year 11 classes will not run on Wednesday afternoon; we will inform parents of which classes are leaving at lunchtime, during the morning.
Year 11 Thursday: No pupils in school. The planned Geography field trip will go ahead for those pupils enrolled – arrangements sent separately.
The four-night run of Chicago finished last Saturday night and was a fantastic way to launch our new Performance Hall. This week, we have pupils out in Zaragoza, Spain, in a shared visit with Comberton VC, and the Year 10 Photography groups went on a museum visit to London on Tuesday. Meanwhile the Year 11 students have been having somewhat less fun, sitting a further set of mock exams as the summer GCSE season approaches…
For the next two weeks, our Year 10 Business Studies students are organising the sale of raffle tickets, in aid of further equipment for the Performance Hall and a potential cinema facility for Cambourne. All pupils will be offered books of raffle tickets to bring home to sell. Some great prizes have been donated: please support this if you can. For details, see https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/raffle/grand-raffle
Don’t miss the Not Just Black and White art exhibition and cultural evening on 17 March, and the Cambourne Eco Festival on Saturday 25 March – details are within the bulletin.
Wishing you all a very good weekend,
