Bulletin 26.05.2023

26th May 2023

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

School Uniform

Please see the attached FAQ page for some further information about how we will support parents to manage the planned return to branded trousers and skirts from September.  Thank you to the many parents who continue to send their children to school in correct uniform and to those who have sent messages of support for this move.

Year 11

Our Year 11 pupils have now completed the first two weeks of their GCSE exams.  These have gone smoothly and the pupils will be on study leave from this afternoon, attending school next half term only for their remaining exams. We will celebrate their five years at CamVC with their Leavers Day at school on 22 June and their prom at Burgess Hall in St Ives, on the 30th.

Year 10

Year 10 pupils have really shone over the past two weeks. Very many have participated in the Prefect Selection process and their commitment and determination to give back to the school and to inspire younger pupils has been hugely impressive.  The results of this process will be announced when we return after the break.    On Tuesday afternoon, many Year 10 pupils also took part in the Year 10 Politics Speech Club, where they performed speeches they have been preparing over the past term.  With topics ranging from Voting Rights to menstruation, they were confident, articulate and passionate; it was great to see them taking this opportunity to polish their public speaking skills, so often the preserve of the private education sector.

Building Work

This week’s meeting with Kier assured us that all work in on schedule, with the first teaching wing to be handed over for September.

Vaccinations

Mrs Barker, our School Nurse, has asked for this Immunisations Guide to be shared with parents and carers  The link provides information on the immunisation programme available and has links to this in many language: Home - Health Publications

We break up this afternoon for a week’s break, returning to school on 5 June.

Wishing you all a very restful and enjoyable break,

Claire Coates
