Parent Bulletin: 11.01.2021

11th January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope that home-learning has gone well for you all today. There are a range of messages for you this evening:

Financial Difficulties - We know that many people have been hit hard by the pandemic. If you would like to apply for assistance:

The Cambourne Food Bank operates from the Old Blue School (just behind the church building) every Thursday morning 10.00am-12.00pm. Please contact Mrs Popplewell if you need a voucher: vpopplewell@cambournevc.org

People living in the South Cambridgeshire District Council area who need essential help can contact www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/coronavirus or call 0345 045 5219

Petitions: please consider signing the following:

Petition to request school staff to be vaccinated alongside key front-line workers. This would help us to keep the school staffed upon our return: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/554316

Petition to request the government to provide urgent financial support to wraparound care and holiday care providers:  https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/563892?fbclid=IwAR01kpr1cZITTgILJCPWYX4he25IpdH3L1WPP1FzcI0ziViFa6V1TDlWwZE

IT Devices and Broadband - As far as we’re aware, all pupils have a good quality device and sufficient broadband at home to access live-streamed lessons. Please let us know via CAM-Support@cambournevc.org  if this isn’t the case and we should be able to help. No child should be using their phone to access their lessons.

Music for assemblies: Message from Mr Page

We would love to have some musical performances as part of our regular online assemblies – ideally from pupils in all year groups.

If your child has a short musical performance that they’d be willing to share (between 1 – 2 minutes), then please video them performing their piece / song, and once they’re happy with the recording, please email it to Geoff Page (gpage@cambournevc.org). If possible, can the video be sent from your personal email address, rather than from them directly: this covers any issues of parental consent.

Along with the video, please include in your email:

  1. Child’s name and their form group (although these won’t be included in the assembly video)
  2. The title, and the songwriter / composer of the piece.

We’re hoping this will be a really nice feature of these assemblies.

Thank you all for your support with your children’s learning.

Wishing you a pleasant evening and take good care,

Claire Coates
