Parent Bulletin 08.07.2022

8th July 2022

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

Staff Training Day on Wednesday

Thank you for your support for our Pastoral Development Day on Wednesday; this was a hugely constructive day for the staff.  Please see the message further in the bulletin regarding the few pupils who have not yet submitted their work for the day.

Pupil Recognition Event

We had great pleasure in hosting our first ‘Recognition Event’ on Thursday afternoon for the many pupils in Years 7 – 11 who have made a highly positive contribution to school life this year, over and above their classroom learning and excellent behaviour.   This is something we will develop and publicise more at the start of next year, so that all pupils are fully aware of the criteria for invitation.

Year 10

Year 10 pupils were complimented in assembly today for their commitment and excellent behaviour over this first week of formal exams.  They have two more days of exams before starting their work experience on Wednesday.

New Intake Events

We were delighted to welcome the parents of the September intake of Year 7 pupils for an information evening on Monday, and to host the Year 6 children for two days of events: a classroom-based day yesterday and a sports day today.  It has been wonderful to host these events for the first time in three years.

School Uniform Consultation

Thank you to the many families who have already responded to the survey for our school uniform consultation, sent on Wednesday this week. We would be pleased to receive any further survey responses by Friday 15 July.  A copy of the consultation document is attached.

Hot Weather Warning – PE shorts allowed on Monday.

All pupils will be allowed to attend school wearing their blue polo shirts and PE kit shorts on Monday 11 July, due to the hot weather forecast.  Please note that ‘cycling’ type stretch shorts are not part of our PE kit and should not be worn.

I hope you all have a very enjoyable weekend.

Yours sincerely

Claire Coates
