Parent Bulletin 24.06.2022

24th June 2022

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parent sand Carers

Yesterday evening we celebrated our first ‘live’ Sports Awards evening for three years.  It was wonderful to be able to welcome the audience of parents and carers, and to celebrate the sporting contributions and successes of so many pupils. Very many congratulations to all who were nominated for an award.

Next week, we’re looking forward to the live performances of The Addams Family.  Please see the details within the bulletin on how tickets can be bought: this promises to be another fantastic piece of musical theatre - not to be missed!

On a less positive note, we have experienced some theft and damage to bikes and scooters in our bike sheets, before and after school, over the past week.  We are working with the Police to follow up the CCTV camera evidence, but please do warn your children to lock their bikes, passing the cable through the front wheel and frame, and securing to the bike rack.  Scooters should be likewise secured.  Once the bike sheds are unlocked at the end of the day, they are accessible to anyone passing and the school cannot take responsibility for items left there.  We would strongly advise against leaving bikes or scooters overnight.

On a similar note, we ask pupils not to bring any valuable items, including mobile phones to school.  Pupils have lockers in which to leave their property, but we do not have the capacity to help pupils to search for any such items if they go missing.

Next Friday 1 July, is a school holiday, in compensation for the extra bank holiday offered to the nation for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which fell within half term.

On Wednesday 6 July, we have planned an additional training day for staff, during which pupils will be set work to be completed at home.  All details were in last week’s bulletin; the letters are attached again for you this week.

Wishing you all a very good weekend, and I hope to be able to welcome many of you to the performances next week.

Yours sincerely

Claire Coates
