Parent Bulletin 25.11.2021

25th November 2021

This week's parent bulletin is available here

Dear Parents and Carers

Flu Vaccinations

The team from the NHS visited school yesterday.  Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the process for Year 7 and for half of the year group in each of 8 and 9 – apparently their procedures have been severely impacted by a diversion of resources to Covid vaccinating. The team will be returning to complete the flu vaccinations at a future date, not yet announced.

Covid 19

Covid levels have continued to decline this week.  At present, two members of staff have the illness and 14 pupils, as below.  These are students who are out of school with Covid-related illness and are isolating for 10 days.  These include positive confirmed cases, positive LFD awaiting PCR results and those who are symptomatic.  Please continue with twice-weekly testing, to help us to continue to drive down these numbers.

Masks

As part of our Covid security measures, all pupils are recommended to wear a mask in corridors and other communal areas of the school.  Very many pupils are relying on being given disposable masks at school, which is expensive for us and environmentally damaging.  Please supply your child with a reusable mask to help with this.

Friday Closure

School is closed tomorrow, Friday 26 November, as part of time allocated for teacher training.  I hope all pupils enjoy their day off, and that you all have a very good weekend.

Yours sincerely

Claire Coates

Principal
