Public Lecture: What is a princess? The true history behind an enduring myth

30th January 2020

Over 40 pupils, parents, carers, staff and the wider community attended our second public lecture hosted by the Cambourne Village College History Department. On Monday 27th January Dr Kelcey Wilson-Lee delivered her lecture entitled: What is a princess? The true history behind an enduring myth.

Kelcey had our audience entranced as she broke down our misconceptions and stereotypes of what it means to be a princess.  Dr Kelcey Wilson-Lee examined the lives of five real princesses in medieval England- an area rarely explored. Kelcey has also kindly donated a copy of her book Daughters of Chivalry: The Forgotten Children of Edward I to our school library.

We would love to host more Public History Lectures- please do get in touch with Miss Angell (jangell@cambournevc.org) if you can help!
