Update 01.06.2020

1st June 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to the second half of the summer term; I hope that you all had a restful and enjoyable break.  Many thanks to everyone who responded to our parent survey: your feedback is very helpful and your messages of thanks have been passed on to staff.

Year 10  Yesterday I sent a message to the parents of Year 10 pupils, explaining that our plans to expand on-site provision for Year 10 students have been deferred until the week beginning 15 June, under Government guidance:  the situation surrounding the re-opening of schools remains fluid and we will keep you updated as much as possible.

Year 10 Revision  As explained before the break, we are planning a series of tests for Year 10 later this term:  please take the time to view this important video from Mrs Moody about the rationale behind this and how to support your child in revising:

A message from Miss Curtis, Head of PE:

Thank you to all those parents, carers, students and staff who are supporting our Healthy Selfie Competition. It has been lovely to see so many of you getting out and about and keeping active, especially in the sunshine over the half term. Do check out our twitter page for updates: @CamVC_PE.

This week will see the launch of our Virtual PE Interform Competition where students are invited to attempt 10 sporting challenges in order to win points for their tutor groups and year groups. All challenges should be easily possible to complete at home, in the garden or at the local park. The Healthy Selfie Competition will continue to run alongside this to ensure everyone can get involved and be celebrated being as active as possible.

All the information for the Virtual Interform is on ShowMyHomework for students to access and will remain up the whole week.

There are points on offer for each completed challenge to add to the current Healthy Selfie results below. In addition, there are prizes for the most engaged student, best individual performance, best tutor group and best year group.

The top 3 standings in each year group, as of Sunday evening, are as follows:

Year 7:

1st: 7A – 1350 points (WOW!!!!!!)

2nd: 7E – 650 points

3rd: 7V – 600 points

Year 8:

Joint 2nd: 8C and 8B – 400 points

Wishing you all a pleasant evening; take good care of yourselves,

Claire Coates
