Update 13.05.2020

13th May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

Here are today’s updates for you:

Supporting Key Workers - Pictures on our social media and website:

The CamVC DT Department laser printer is being put to good use by Gemma Rose, our DT technician, who is producing face shields for the protection of key workers.  Having already donated our Science safety specs to the NHS, we’re really pleased to be able to make an additional contribution.

Gardening Project - Pictures on our social media and website:

Key Worker School pupils have been hard at work clearing 15 wheelbarrows of weeds from our raised beds, and planting: peas, beans (magic ones apparently), sweetcorn, carrots, sunflowers and strawberry plants, with radish, chard and tomatoes in the pipeline.  Meanwhile, our brilliant team of TAs have been delivering growbags and a whole variety of vegetables for members of the school gardening club to grow at home.   We have truly amazing support staff at our school!

TA Recruitment

Recruitment of Teaching Assistants is delayed this year, but we will have a number of positions to fill for September.   Please keep an eye on the Vacancies section of our website if you are interested in applying.

Exercise Books

We’re aware that a number of pupils are beginning to need new exercise books.  After the half-term break, we will arrange a socially-distanced exercise book collection.

‘Drop in’ support line invitation from Cambs Early Help Team: Please see attachment

  • You can ask a question, request support about your child’s or young person’s behaviours, get help with new routines and boundaries, or maybe just talk about how you are managing parenting in the current situation.
  • We will give you advice, support, and help with signposting or just listen to your parenting experiences.

I hope your weeks are going well.

Take care of yourselves and all good wishes,

Claire Coates
