Update 31.03.2020

31st March 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope you’ve been able to get outside in the sun for a while today.  Here are today’s updates:

Urgent:  Easter Opening for Children of Critical Workers

We’ve been asked to remain open to provide childcare for critical workers through the Easter holiday and parents have already been asked to tell us if you need this provision. We now need to plan in more detail for the holiday period; if you are a critical  worker and are absolutely reliant on this provision, please complete the form on the link below and return it by 6.00 pm tomorrow,  Wednesday 1 April, giving the dates you think you will need. Don’t worry if you aren’t yet sure of your shifts or that these may change - that is understood.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR A PLACE IF YOU CAN ARRANGE ALTERNATIVE CARE FOR YOUR CHILD.  IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT NUMBERS ARE KEPT AS LOW AS POSSIBLE TO LIMIT POSSIBLE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS.

Show My HomeWorkA message from our Data Manager, Beth Cook – who is doing a marvellous job in supporting pupils’ IT access:

A lot of students are reporting issues with downloading or uploading their homework on Show My Homework. We’re aware that there are issues with the system being slow at the moment as so many students are now using it (as well as having individual internet issues). Unfortunately there isn’t much we can do as a school but SMHW are aware and are working on a fix for this. We are advising students to try uploading at different times of the day.

Thank you for your continued support for us at school, and for all you’re doing to keep your children working at home.

With all good wishes and take care,

Claire Coates
Principal
