Bulletin 30.09.2022

30th September 2022

This week's bulletin can be found here.

Dear Parents and Carers

Illness levels at School

This has been a challenging week at school in terms of staffillness and increasing numbers of Covid cases amongst pupils and staff; today we have had seven supply teachers in school. Please note that the Local Authority is no longer recommending that families test their children for Covid, although you may choose to do this.  The guidance now recommends that children spend three days at home if they have any symptoms of respiratory illness; they can return to school when they are symptom free and feeling better. Please do not send your children to school if they are feeling unwell. It is recommended that over-18s isolate for five full days with any symptoms of respiratory illness.

Performance Hall

This week, Year 7 and 8 pupils have been very patient with unusual dining conditions at break and lunchtimes while we had a major electrical installation taking place in our Performance Hall.  The work has progressed well and we’re looking forward to testing our new conference facilities oftiered seating, screen and projector for pupil assemblies, over the next weeks.   We’re now taking bookings for external hire of these facilities.

The final stage of the Performance Hall fit-out will be the theatre installation: we are hoping that the curtains will be fitted in the next two months, and are embarking on a final fund-raising exercise to raise enough money to buy new stage lights.  Please see details of our campaign on this link:

The Cambourne Village College Charitable Trust - Cambourne Village College (cambournevc.org)

If any parent of friend of the school would be interested in becoming a Charitable Trustee, please do contact me at school - we would welcome new members as we continue our work to enhance the schools’ facilities for pupils and the wider community.

I wish you all a very good weekend.

Your sincerely

Claire Coates
