Parent Bulletin 22.07.2022

22nd July 2022

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

We hope that your children have enjoyed their activities weeks and work experience - despite the extraordinary heat at the start of the week.  I’m enormously grateful to the entire staff who have led or supported such a range of events over the week – lots of pictures are available on our Facebook page. We are all ready for the end of term today!

This has been an incredibly busy and successful term:  please do take a moment to look at this term’s News @Cam, which features the achievements of very many pupils in very diverse ways.

Staff

We are sad to be saying goodbye to a number of teachers who are leaving us today. Those of longest standing include Miss Plumb, Teacher of Science and Psychology, Mrs Hirst, Teacher of Spanish, and Mr Mulholland, Teacher of Music.  We are also losing Miss Thorne, Mr Simpson and Mr Dove from English, Mr Williams from Computing, Ms Bridge and Miss Pickett from Maths, Mr Lynch from Science, Mr Martinez from MFL, Mr Hills from PE and Ms Heard from DT. We are grateful to all of them for their contributions to the College and wish them the very best of luck in their new ventures.

Fortunately, we are able to welcome back Ms Minnaar and Ms Gelder from maternity leave, and have been able to fill all teaching vacancies for September.

Support Staff Vacancies

Like very many schools at present, we are having difficulty in filling some support staff roles, and are in urgent need of a HR Manager, Exams Officer and Campus Manager, among other vacancies.  Further details are in the bulletin and the Vacancies section of our website.   Please do share these with any friends or family who may be interested.

Uniform

Following our consultation, please remember that non-branded school trousers, formal shorts and school skirts can be worn instead of branded items from September, provided these resemble the styles sold by our suppliers.  Full details are on this LINK.    Please ensure that skirts are bought long enough at the start of the year to still be no more than three fingers’ width from the top of the knee by next summer.

We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 pupils on Friday 2nd, and the whole school back on Monday 5th September.  In the meantime, I hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable summer holiday.

Yours sincerely

Claire Coates
