Parent Bulletin 24.05.2024
24th May 2024
This week's bulletin is available here.
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you to all of you who attended our 2nd annual Eco-Festival last Saturday, it was an amazing day with a range of organisations also supporting and taking part to promote what we can all day to raise awareness and start to take action about the environmental challenges we are all facing. Special thanks and congratulations to all the students who helped organise and run the day too and a big congratulations to Mia who was the overall winner of the Art Competition!
I wanted to use this bulletin to give you all a few reminders ready for when we return after the half term break. These have also been given to all the students during their tutor times this week.
As the weather gets warmer, please ensure your child comes to school with a full water bottle. These can be refilled during break and lunch (and not during lesson time). We are aware that a number of these water stations have been broken, but these will all be fixed over the half term break. Shorts can be worn, but please ensure they meet our uniform standards: https://www.cambournevc.org/parent-carer-and-student-information/uniform
Please can you continue to ensure your child is in school by 8:30am each morning for registration to start at 8:35am. After half term, the bike sheds will be locked at 8:35am and if anyone arrives after that time, they will have to ask in reception for a member of the site team to unlock the sheds again.
Punctuality for our students is really important, not only for their arrival to school, but also to each of their lessons, as this time can add up to hours of lost learning time over their school career, even if they are only a few minutes late each time and we would really appreciate your support in ensuring that your child realises the importance of being on time.
We would also like to ensure that all students come with the correct equipment each day. In case you child does need any additional supplies during the school day, there are a small number of items that can be purchased from the school shop, based in the library. Please see our website for more information: https://www.cambournevc.org/parent-carer-and-student-information/equipment-school-shop
One final reminder is about ensuring that your child has enough money on their school account to buy food at break and lunch. If you are having issues with your ParentPay account, you can contact the school on CAM-Support@cambournevc.org
Finally, I’d like to wish everyone a wonderful half term and a relaxing break and a big well done to all our Year 11s who are doing so well with their GCSE exams at the moment and will be on study leave after half term.
Kind regards,
Lynn Mayes
Principal
